Aside from its deliciousness, the banana has got many great health benefits. It contains several essential nutrients and is very beneficial for digestion, heart, and weight loss. One medium banana (118 grams) contains 9% of the RDI. Eating more bananas means a rich diet in potassium and can reduce the risk of heart disease by 27%. An ideal source of fiber, a medium-sized banana provides about 3g of fiber which is equivalent to 10% of the daily requirement, and it helps the colon function properly, maintaining cholesterol, blood pressure balance and reducing inflammation.
